Below are details on how to apply for the Stormwater Credit Program for commercial and industrial properties. An application form and required documents will be required to apply for a credit program. Required Documents
Below are the requirements if you are applying for a credit outside of the Site Plan approval process. For example, if you have already installed a Best Management Practice (BMP) that meets the credit eligibility criteria. If not, please review the Site Plan approval process if you are planning on installing a BMP that may be eligible for the credit.
Application forms must be submitted with supporting documents prepared and signed by a professional engineer who is not affiliated with the applicant. New credit application
- Engineering Drawings
- Site Plan
- Details of Stormwater Management Facilities, BMP’s, and/or products used.
- Approvals from applicable agencies.
- Supporting documentation and/or modelling results
- Operation and Maintenance Plan
- Pollution Prevention Plan (optional)
- Completed Direct Deposit form with a void cheque attached or financial institution letter
- Proof of payment for the $50.00 credit review fee
- Permission from the landowner and/or condo corporation (if applicable)
Credit update application
- Engineering Drawings
- Site Plan
- Approvals from applicable agencies.
- Details of Stormwater Management Facilities, BMP’s, and/or products used.
- Supporting documentation and/or modelling results
- Operation and Maintenance Plan
- Pollution Prevention Plan (optional)
- Inspection and maintenance logs
- Updates to Operation and Maintenance Plan (if applicable)
- Update to Pollution Prevention Plan (if applicable)
- Proof of payment for the $50.00 credit review fee
Credit Renewal
- Inspection and maintenance logs for the last five years from a qualified person.
- Updates to Operation and Maintenance Plan (if applicable)
- Updates to Pollution Prevention Plan (if applicable)
- Proof of payment for the $50.00 credit review fee
Fee
There is a $50 application fee for the Stormwater Credit Program. Please pay the $50 fee at Customer Service. Site Plan review fees may also apply. Please view the Site Plan Approval Process for more information on Site Plans.
Submission
Please submit all application forms along with required documents through email to [email protected] or by mail or in person to the Engineering Department at the Town of Newmarket Municipal Offices (395 Mulock Drive), PO BOX 328, STN Main, Newmarket Ontario, L3Y 4X7.

Review
Only complete applications will be considered for review. Once Town staff has reviewed an Appeal or Credit Application, the Applicant will be provided with written notice to the address provided on the application indicating if the application was approved or denied. If denied, the letter will state what Evaluation Criteria was not met. If approved, the letter will indicate the expected credit.
Credits or new rates will not be applied until after confirmation is made by the Town through an onsite inspection that the BMP's have been installed and are operational.
