AMCTO E.A Danby Award - E-Bidding System
Newmarket received the E.A. Danby Award in the Municipal Administration category from the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers (AMCTO) for the implementation of an electronic bidding system in 2014. The award recognizes the Town's Procurement Services department's outstanding achievement in improving municipal performance.
Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) - Progressive Leadership Development
CAMA recognized Newmarket for its administrative excellence and innovative approach with a Professional Development Award. From vision to execution, the program has created an environment for extraordinary public service, which is embedded throughout all levels of the organization. Employees are trained and developed to be empowered and effective leaders through creating a People Plan, an Organizational Readiness Framework, a new Performance Partnership process and tools, a new online learning portal for leadership development, as well as commitment to a renewed effort for formal employee recognition.
Share the Road Cycling Coalition - Bicycle Friendly Community Award
The Share the Road Cycling Coalition announced that Newmarket received the Bronze award for its level of status as a Bicycle Friendly Community. This award recognizes Newmarket's progress and investments in cycling infrastructure and collaboration with community stakeholders to continue building a safe, healthy and connected community.
Lifesaving Society Ontario - Burlington Cup Award
The Burlington Cup is awarded to a municipality with the largest lifesaving program for communities between 50,000 to 100,000 residents. Newmarket was awarded the Burlington Cup based on total points for completion of various lifesaving programs, such as the National Lifeguard Service (NLS) program by Newmarket staff and members of the public.
MarCom Awards - Marketing and Communications
The MarCom Awards are an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, government and not-for-profit organizations.

Newmarket received the Top Swimming & Water Safety Training Partner award for a municipality with a population of less than 100,000 and for training the highest number of participants in the Red Cross Swim Program. This award honours the outstanding achievement and commitment efforts made by training partners to improve the lives of vulnerable people in the community.
