Residents can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational areas, including community and neighbourhood parks and parkettes. There are over

See below for a list of parks and amenities.
Mulock Park
Construction on the Mulock Park has begun. From 2019 to 2021, the Town of Newmarket, engaged over 3,000+ people to share their ideas and visions for the property which has helped develop our five guiding principals, three concept themes and the final design concept. Newmarket looks forward to bringing the community’s vision to life. To create a place where community, life, recreation, culture, heritage and conservation collide in innovative and engaging ways. Newmarket Trails and Bicycle Paths: find a park or trail close to you!
Share the trails with the community
Be courteous and share the trails with all users (walkers, runners, cyclist etc.). Stay at least 6ft./2m. away from others and keep to the right and pass on the left. Cyclists are reminded to use safe speeds, avoid cycling on busier paths, water pedestrians by running a bell if you need to pass (slow down and pass at a lower speed) and to dismount or slow down at bridges. If the trail is busy, consider going to another trail or returning at a later time.
Please use extra caution on the section of the Tom Taylor Trail immediately south of Mulock bridge. This trail segment is susceptible to flooding causing slippery conditions.
There are a vast number of trails nearby such as trails that are part of the York Regional Forests.
Winter Activities in Parks
Residents are reminded that parks are not maintained for winter activities. Please take extra caution, use at your own risk. Should you choose to toboggan, please follow the safety guidelines below.
Safety Tips for TobogganingUsers should:
Check the hill. Make sure it is free of hazards (trees, rocks, fences, bumps) and away from roads and rivers
Avoid ice-covered areas
Make sure there is room at the bottom of the hill to stop – away from roads, or bodies of water
Use proper sliding equipment and wear a helmet (ski helmets are recommended)
Ensure your route is clear before sliding
Ensure all children are supervised by an adult
Try to maintain 6ft./2m. at all times from others to prevent the spread of COVID-19
Other tips:
Inspect the toboggan to ensure it is in good condition
Dress warmly for winter activities. Many inquiries are cold-related, such as frostbit and hypothermia. After tobogganing, change into dry clothes quickly to prevent frostbite.
The safest position to be in while tobogganing is kneeling. Sliding on your stomach offer the least protection from head injury. Sliding on your back increases the risk of injuring the spine/spinal cord.
Avoid tobogganing at night
