Welcome to the Recreation Youth Centre & telMAX Indoor Skate Park, also known as the RYC! This centre offers children and youth a safe and welcoming place to hang out with friends and participate in as much or as little as they like. The RYC is proud to offer a wide variety of recreational registered programs and drop-ins.
When visiting the RYC, find an activity that suits your interests. Whether it be learning a new recipe in one of our cooking classes, joining a basketball game in our gymnasium drop-ins, socializing with friends while playing skee-ball, or hanging out in our Lounge with a game of Mario Kart – the possibilities are endless!
Be sure to also check out our 10,000 sq. ft. telMAX Indoor Skate Park which includes ledges, stairs, rails, boxes, ramps and banks. This unique park provides a great experience for all, no matter what your skate ability. Both group and private lessons are offered by highly skilled instructors to help you reach your goals and master a new skill. Read more about our lesson offerings below!

The Gymnasium and telMAX Indoor Skate Park are open for birthyear-specific drop-in sessions. Pre-registration is not available.
Our Lobby is also open during hours of operation for all ages. Ping Pong, Air Hockey, Foosball, Bubble Hockey, Skee-Ball, Pool, Nintendo Switch and various Board Games available.

Are spectators permitted on site? | Yes, spectators are permitted to remain on site in designated viewing areas. |
Will my children be supervised while visiting the RYC? | Registered Programs: Children will only be supervised during our registered recreation programs. Drop-In Sessions: Supervision is limited to the availability of staff. While visiting the RYC, it is expected that a parent/guardian will remain on the premises to ensure appropriate supervision to hose 9 years of age and younger.

Ride around our indoor skate park, get active in our gymnasium, hangout in our lobby with a variety of table games, and gain access to a lunchroom!

Interested in building your experience for future employment? Want to make a difference in your community? Looking to help make the Recreation Youth Centre & TelMAX Indoor Skate Park a fun an inclusive place for all? The Town of Newmarket has a volunteer program for youth looking to gain experience working with children & youth, while developing their leadership skills! RYC Volunteers volunteer their time to provide staff with extra support throughout programs and the facility. This program is a one-day course needed to be eligible to volunteer at the RYC. Successful candidates will be contacted regarding their placement following the course and can use these hours towards their high school volunteer hours! Successful candidates are those that are actively listening and engaged during the entirety of the course, respectful towards other participants and the instructor, and show an interest in the volunteer position. Please come to class with the Volunteer Application filled out. This will be sent to participants prior to the class via email.
